About City University Malaysia

City University Malaysia was founded in 1984 by a group of scholars with experience in local and international universities, such as Petaling Jaya Community College (PJCC).

Admission to City University Malaysia

Application and admission requirements vary depending on the program the student wishes to study at the university.

Required documents

• Two attested copies of all certificates, and academic papers. 

• Four attested copies of recent passport-size color photographs.

• Attested copy of the passport.

• Job experience certificate for EMBA.

Admission Procedure

New international student applicants

The student is required to email the completed application form and the following documents to the university:

• Passport-size photograph with white background.

• True certified copies of all academic records and certificates from the Ministry of Education or previous schools.

• A copy of the passport.

• Updated CV, and Employment Confirmation Letter (for postgraduate applications only)

• Application Fee and EMGS Student Visa Processing Fee (approximately RM3,150)

transfer students
The application form and the following documents are required:

• Application fee and EMGS student visa processing fee.

• Certified copies of the release letter, attendance record, and academic certificates from a recent college or institution.

Step 2  

• The university will email a copy of the acceptance letter to students if they meet the admission requirements.

• The International Student Section at City University Malaysia will submit the documents to Education Global Services Malaysia (EMGS) for visa approval within 6-8 weeks.

Step 3  

• Once the University International Office receives the required fees, CityU will send the original acceptance letter and visa approval letter to eligible international students by express mail.

• Students from Africa must have the necessary vaccinations, especially the yellow fever vaccine, before coming to Malaysia and carry a medical certificate for verification by the Immigration Department.

Accommodation at City University Malaysia

• The university offers a combination of high academic standards and a prime location with easy access to the city center.

• City University Malaysia places the student first, providing an exceptional accommodation experience, with a variety of services to help students achieve their academic and personal goals.

•  Accommodations at Damai Court, Mentari Court, and Clyde Setapak provide an excellent learning environment with all the facilities to meet the student’s social needs.

• Accommodation is provided for Malaysian students only, with priority given to students living more than 50 kilometers from the campus.

• Students are allowed to travel to campus using City University transportation.
