About Gelişim University
Gelişim University, sometimes called Istabul Gelişim University, is a private university located in Istanbul Turkey and established by the Gelişim Education, Culture, Health and Social Service foundation in 2008.
Gelişim University was first named the Istanbul Gelişim Vocational School but later went on to be established in 2011 as the Gelişim University, home to four faculties, two educational schools, and two vocational schools.
Since then, it has branched out to become one of the best modern Turkish universities and one of the top when it comes to the immense number of specialisations students can choose from. The university is located in the centre of Istanbul, with a huge research complex made up of over 100 laboratories, 17 research centers and more than 50 student clubs that students can choose to take part in, growing socially and culturally as they engage in their university adventure.

Gelişim University Ranking and Accreditations
Ranking
When it comes to ranking, the university ranks among the top 5,000 universities worldwide. In Turkey, Gelişim university comes in at the 133rd place when compared to other Turkish schools.
Accreditations
Gelişim University has received many notable accreditations worldwide, the most obvious one being the accreditation from the Turkish Higher Education Council (YÖK).
Some of the other accreditations it has received are the following:
- AQAS Accreditation: This accreditation started in Germany in 2002 and has more than 5,000 auditing programs worldwide. Universities that meet this accreditation show that the programs there meet European education standards and principles.
- AHPGS: Germany-based Accreditation Agency in Health and Social Sciences (AHPGS) has accredited health and social science programs at the university. AHPGS is part of the European Association for Quality Assurance and has accredited more than 1,200 programs across more than 120 countries.
- PEARSON: The school has also received the PEARSON accreditation. PEARSON is a British institute for international accreditation of educational programs. It especially accredits programs taught in the English language, many of which Gelişim University has.
- ABET: Gelişim University has also achieved the ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology). The ABET is a US-Based accreditation that covers engineering programs in qualified universities.

Student Facilities at Gelişim University

- High school certificate, translated into Turkish or English and approved by a recognized entity. (If you have not yet completed high school, you can hand in the certificate of the last semester, also translated and approved).
- High school transcript, translated into Turkush or English and certified.
- Certificate of proficiency in English or Turkish language, if available (such as the TOEFL-TÖMER). However, this may not be compulsory based on the program of your choice so check in advance.
- Any additional papers or certificates that may offer students discounts or scholarships.

Ranking
When it comes to ranking, the university ranks among the top 5,000 universities worldwide. In Turkey, Gelişim university comes in at the 133rd place when compared to other Turkish schools.
Accreditations
Gelişim University has received many notable accreditations worldwide, the most obvious one being the accreditation from the Turkish Higher Education Council (YÖK).
Some of the other accreditations it has received are the following:
- AQAS Accreditation: This accreditation started in Germany in 2002 and has more than 5,000 auditing programs worldwide. Universities that meet this accreditation show that the programs there meet European education standards and principles.
- AHPGS: Germany-based Accreditation Agency in Health and Social Sciences (AHPGS) has accredited health and social science programs at the university. AHPGS is part of the European Association for Quality Assurance and has accredited more than 1,200 programs across more than 120 countries.
- PEARSON: The school has also received the PEARSON accreditation. PEARSON is a British institute for international accreditation of educational programs. It especially accredits programs taught in the English language, many of which Gelişim University has.
- ABET: Gelişim University has also achieved the ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology). The ABET is a US-Based accreditation that covers engineering programs in qualified universities.
