Admission to Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) 

Pre Graduate Programs

Application for Pre-Diploma, Diploma, and Bachelor's programs can be made through the official UiTM online portal or the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education's UPU system. Admission sessions occur twice a year.

Master’s Program

• A Bachelor’s Degree with Honours from UiTM or any higher education institution recognized by the University Senate.

• OR a qualification equivalent to a first-degree recognized by the University Senate in a relevant field.

• Additional requirements as specified by the faculty.

PhD Program

• A Master’s Degree in a relevant field from UiTM or any higher education institution recognized by the University Senate.

• Additional requirements as specified by the faculty.

English Language Proficiency Requirements

• International applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English, as all programs at UiTM are conducted in English.

• The English proficiency certificate must be recent (valid for two years).

• The minimum English language requirement varies between different study programs.

• Full admission will be granted to applicants who meet the English requirement criteria.

• Applicants without proof of English proficiency must enroll in a 6-month English Proficiency Course (EPC) before joining the program. Upon completion of the EPC, candidates must take a MUET/TOEFL/IELTS exam within two years of registration.

Exemption from the English language requirement is only granted if the applicant:

• Holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an institution where English is the primary language of instruction.

• A citizen of an English-speaking country.

Residential Colleges: These are the main accommodation options for students on campus, and are known as “Kolej”. Accommodation prices in residential colleges usually range from RM150 to RM500 per month, depending on the type of room and facilities available.

Private accommodation: Off-campus accommodation such as shared apartments or houses, which offers more privacy and independence. Prices range from RM500 to RM1,500 per month depending on location, size and type of housing.

Accommodation for Bumiputera Students: There is accommodation for Bumiputera students to ensure equal access to housing, and their prices are similar to those of other residential colleges.
