About Izmir University of Economics
The Izmir University of Economics, established by the “Izmir Chamber of Commerce Health and Education Foundation” in 2001, is an endowment university to be a source of pride for the city of Izmir, and it is the first foundation university in the Aegean region.
The university was officially established with 2 faculties, 5 schools, and 2 postgraduate schools. On July 1, 2001, it moved to its current campus in Palçova. The university began its educational journey with 288 students until it became one of the most important universities in Türkiye. The university continued its development and now includes 8 colleges, 2 schools, 3 vocational schools, and a graduate school. The university also obtained “institutional accreditation” from the Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) in Türkiye.

The exchange of international students at the Izmir University of Economics takes place within the framework of a bilateral agreement between the Izmir University of Economics and one of the partner universities (Both must be holders of a valid Erasmus Charter).
