Istanbul Bilgi University Confirms Continuity of Education and Exams as Scheduled

In a significant step ensuring academic stability for thousands of students, The previous decision to merge Istanbul Bilgi University (İstanbul Bilgi Üniversitesi) with a public university has been officially reversed. It has been decided that the university will continue its educational activities under its current administrative structure. This move ensures the full rights of students and faculty members, ending the recent state of uncertainty and confirming that the academic process and campus activities will proceed without change or interruption.

No Changes to the Final Exam Schedule at Bilgi University

According to information from the university administration, the presidency of Bilgi University confirmed that the academic calendar is proceeding as previously announced without any modifications. Final exams for the Spring semester are scheduled to take place between June 8 and June 20, 2026.

Additionally, the university clarified that all planned scientific and social events will continue as scheduled, with the academic and administrative staff continuing their duties within the university's established institutional framework.

Council of Higher Education (YÖK): Students' Future is the Priority

In a related context, the President of the Turkish Council of Higher Education, Erol Özvar, stated that educational activities at Istanbul Bilgi University are "guaranteed and will continue without interruption." He noted that the Council is monitoring the process with full responsibility to ensure the stability of the higher education system and protect student rights.

Reassuring students and their families, Özvar said: "All measures have been taken to ensure that students and staff do not experience any uncertainty. We call on our students to focus solely on their studies and prepare for the final exams, which will be held on the announced dates, and not to be distracted by any matters outside their educational achievement."
