APU Launches Malaysia’s First AI Supercomputing Lab
In a move that solidifies its position as a leading technology university in Malaysia and the region, Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) has officially launched Malaysia’s first AI Supercomputing Lab, powered by advanced NVIDIA DGX Spark technology and officiated by the Minister of Higher Education Malaysia.
Unprecedented Technological Capabilities for Students
The new lab provides APU students with access to state-of-the-art computing infrastructure, enabling them to build, train, and test complex AI models with capacities of up to 200 billion parameters.
The lab focuses on supporting research and practical applications in the following areas:
Large Language Models (LLM): Building and training advanced language models.
Generative AI: Developing innovative smart applications and experiences.
Agentic AI: Creating autonomous systems capable of independent decision-making and action.
Machine Learning & Data Science: Analyzing big data and engineering complex algorithms.
Intelligent Engineering: Integrating artificial intelligence into engineering solutions.
Academic Disciplines Benefiting from the Lab
This facility serves undergraduate students (particularly for final-year projects), postgraduate students, and researchers across the following disciplines:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Computer Science
Mechatronic Engineering and Data Science
Quantum Computing
This milestone underscores APU’s commitment to equipping its students with the cutting-edge tools and technologies demanded by today's global job market.
