Significant success from Turkey's “Young Universities”
Turkey was the most represented country with 47 universities in the 2023 World Young Universities Ranking of the Times Higher Education (THE).
While Koç and Sabancı universities took place in the top 100, a total of 20 Turkish universities entered the top 500.
In the 2023 Young Universities Ranking of the higher education rating agency Times (THE), which includes the world's best young universities, Turkey has become the country with the highest number of universities.
THE “Young University Rankings” lists the best universities in the world for those aged 50 and under. Universities on the list are evaluated for their teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook missions to provide the most comprehensive and balanced comparisons available.
In this context, 605 universities from 78 countries that met the necessary criteria for THE 2023 Young University Ranking were evaluated. As a result of the examinations, 47 universities from Turkey entered the Young Universities Ranking this year. Koç University ranked 55th and Sabancı University 89th, while a total of 20 Turkish universities were included in the top 500.
