Turkish universities support the earthquake victims on February 6, 2024

Turkish universities agreed to commemorate the day of the earthquake that occurred last year in Türkiye, which killed nearly 40,000 people and injured thousands in a huge humanitarian disaster that shook Türkiye.

Based on its humanitarian role; Turkish universities have designated February 6, 2024, as a day to support the families of the victims, especially children displaced from their homes after they were demolished, and children who lost their families.

Believing in its strong role in society; Turkish universities, with their various governmental and private names, have established child care centers, hospitals, centers for installing prosthetic limbs, and other services and activities to which Turkish universities have contributed and continue to contribute, to support the efforts of the state and charitable organizations in reviving earthquake areas and supporting families there.

We also do not forget the great role that universities play in registering students in earthquake zones in distance education courses, as most universities reduce the conditions necessary to join them to support students in earthquake zones.
