New laws regarding Egyptian students traveling abroad in 2024

As of the beginning of the year 2024, the Communication Department of the General Administration of Passports in Egypt decided the following:

• Preventing students under 18 years of age from traveling outside the country without a guardian.

• If the student wants to travel alone, he must first obtain permission from the Communications Department of the General Administration of Passports, Immigration and Nationality.

• To obtain this permit, the student must be present with his guardian, and obtain written approval from him for his son’s travel.

• The student must submit a justified and convincing travel request, as the Communications Department carefully examines the justifications for travel within the framework of the Ministry’s work to combat illegal immigration and human trafficking, which has claimed the lives of thousands of young people.

• As for the sports teams that will travel from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, they will travel without permits, and the rest of the sports teams need a permit from the Communications Department.

Students must adhere to the instructions stated in order to be able to leave Egypt and study abroad.
