Good news for international students in Turkish universities 2024!

The Turkish Immigration Department is pleased to announce that residence permits for university students can now be renewed and issued through the "Foreign Student Affairs Office" at their respective universities. This allows students to renew their residence permits within the university without the need to visit the immigration office.

This decision is based on the protocol signed between the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and the Immigration Department in Turkey. Students from institutes, undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs can now submit their applications for renewing their student residence permits at their universities.

This decision includes all universities in Turkey, whether public or private, and all universities registered under YÖK.

Please note that the renewal of residence permits does not apply to those holding "temporary protection" or "international protection" permits. Additionally, those who have booked appointments twice within the past six months through the online registration system but failed to attend or cancel their appointments are not allowed to submit new applications.
